It happens that I speak in front of other needs - for training or seminars. It is by no means my favorite activities, but it's easier for me to speak, when I work with the group, so ask questions or exercise instructions as if I must make a speech.
And in coaching, I have to do it again and again with clients who are afraid of (oral) examinations have a blackout on the talks or hold a speech to. I'm trying to find individual solutions to the talking is easier for others, but some points I always call:
- you know what you're talking! ... And you know more than you say in your speech!
- Practice! In front of the mirror, with a recording device, in public, with all the equipment that you also use in the lecture, take breaks, breathe, plan a questions and unexpected! unexpected.
Make yourself known before: with the space, the audience, microphone ,...!
- Imagine how you make the speech: Your loud and clear voice, your presence, the content of your speech and your statement! And you also consider your audience's interest and attention!
- Connect this idea with an anchor (an unobtrusive gesture or a small object that you have with you). So you can better even with great excitement to focus on your subject.
- Take a short break before you start - to breathe and laugh and calm down!
What are your tricks for speeches, lectures or oral examinations?
